Attorney William M. Sremack

Bill Sremack was born in Tallmadge, Ohio, and has lived in the Akron area all of his life. A graduate of Tallmadge High School, Bill served as a Marine in the Vietnam War. He received both his Bachelor’s and J.D. degrees from the University of Akron. In law school, he was president of the Student Bar Association and founded a program to bring legal advice to inmates at the Mansfield Reformatory. He was admitted to the bar in 1975.

Following law school, Bill served as an assistant prosecutor for the City of Barberton. He founded William M. Sremack Co. LPA in 1985 and has been in the same location ever since, serving clients with distinction in a wide variety of practice areas.

Among his achievements: In 1990, Bill achieved a $1.3 million settlement with the County of Summit for failure to respond to reports of abuse against an Akron girl. He won a 7-0 decision in the Ohio Supreme Court on this case, upholding citizens’ right to challenge government inaction. Since that case, he has developed a reputation as a leading plaintiff’s attorney in cases of government liability.

He lives in Barberton with his wife, Gaye, and dog, Vinnie.

Attorney Rebecca J. Sremack

Born in Akron, Rebecca is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law. During law school, Rebecca was a member of the Jonathan M. Ault Mock Trial Team. She received both the Paul J. Hergenroeder Award for outstanding performance in trial tactics and the Jack Cronquist Award for outstanding service to clients at the school’s Milton A. Kramer Law Clinic Center.

Beginning as a student intern in law school, Rebecca has worked with Case’s Kramer Law Clinic on a federal lawsuit against the City of Akron to protect homeless citizens’ civil rights. She is now co-counsel on the case. You can read more about it here.

Prior to law school, Rebecca attended Washington & Jefferson College, graduating cum laude with a degree in English and Sociology. She also worked at the J.M. Smucker Company in Orrville. Rebecca lives in the Akron area, and in her spare time, volunteers as a legal advisor with John Hay High School’s mock trial team.
